Position Overview: EnFocus Search is recruiting an experienced MEP Manager/Coordinator to join our client. Headquartered in Indianapolis, IN, our client is a premier Midwestern General Contractor and Construction Manager leading major commercial, healthcare, institutional, and industrial projects. This opportunity is ideal for a professional with experience overseeing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems who is ready to provide comprehensive administrative and technical leadership across preconstruction, field execution, quality assurance, and commissioning for major builds.
Key Responsibilities
- Preconstruction & Bidding: Assist with scope of work preparation, write mechanical and electrical bid packages, conduct pre-award interviews, and perform budget and constructability reviews.
- Project Execution & Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and superintendents to plan trade work, troubleshoot field issues, and ensure proper installation sequencing.
- Quality & Testing Management: Conduct quality inspections of installed work, coordinate building authority inspections, witness system testing, and manage MEP commissioning.
- Multidisciplinary Oversight: Oversee HVAC, plumbing, piping, fire protection, medical gases, temperature controls, and high/low voltage electrical systems.
- Cross-Functional Subcontractor Leadership: Direct and align trade partners, vendors, and site personnel to maintain tight project schedules, safety standards, and project specifications.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5 to 10 years of relevant construction industry experience (ideally with hospitals, universities, data centers, or corporate buildings)
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Experience in MEP preconstruction planning, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and field execution
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, fire protection, medical gas, and electrical systems
- Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication skills
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification is a plus
- Proficiency in technical constructability reviews and building authority inspection coordination
