Position Overview

Our client is committed to providing innovative and environmentally responsible solutions for handling fly ash. They specialize in creating lined landfills that safely contain processed ash, ensuring the highest standards of environmental safety for our energy clients.

The ESH Manager will administer the company's Health and Safety program at our jobsites in Alabama, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Georgia, West Virginia, and North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities

• Implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state, federal, and customer environmental, health, and safety regulations for multiple locations.
• Administers employee training programs at multiple locations.
• Assists in the design and development of facilities, work areas, and work procedures.
• Assist ESH Specialists at various locations.
• Ensures compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations. Keeps up to date on any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
• Investigates reported accidents, incidents, and near misses. Evaluate current best practices and then prepare reports and implement corrective actions.
• Develop relationships with our customers at the local and corporate level to promote and incorporate the company's safety program.
• Develop and implement strategies to drive company and regional/department goals and objectives.
• Provide clear direction and objectives to ESH Specialists.
• Ability to ensure safety coverage is available for all sites.
• Perform quarterly ESH audits.

Qualifications & Experience

• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Mass Excavation Construction business (Caterpillar-type equipment) and trucking is a positive.
• DOT Compliance Experience
• Position requires knowledge of job safety analysis, job instructions training, and ability to write complete Site-Specific Safety Plans and job hazard analysis (JHA's) without supervision.
• Strong written, verbal communications and training skills.
• Must have strong computer skills using Microsoft Windows, Outlook Email, MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint; experience preferred. Ability to use and navigate iPhone and iPad required.
• Bachelor's degree in related field from four-year college or university or five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Safety Professional designation and/or OSHA 500/510 Certifications preferred.
